Government Increases Chemical Warfare Against Women and Unborn

The New Zealand government is authorising state funded chemical warfare against our own children. Chemical abortions are an instrument of mass destruction, which victimises mothers and kills their unborn.

The NZ Family Planning Association is eager to become a major participant in this chemical warfare against our children and is seeking government funding to become fully operational in all of its 30 clinics.

The Ministry of Health reports in its 2021 report that in 2020 there were 5,342 medical abortions an increase of 47.92 % over the 3,617 medical abortions performed in 2019. Surgical abortions fell in 2020 to 7,802 from 9,262 in 2019.

Medical statistics provided by the Ministry of Health reveal that 169 women were admitted to hospital in 2020 with complications following a medical abortion. Most were discharged on the same day, however there were 55 nights in hospital recorded. Many women also end up in A&E with complications after an abortion, their numbers and complications are not recorded in abortion statistics.

Right to Life deplores the increase in the killing of the unborn with the lethal murder pill Mifepristone, RU 486 and the prostaglandin Misoprostol. This chemical warfare is very effective, as Mifepristone cruelly deprives the developing human being of nourishment resulting in the child dying of starvation.

The government is encouraging the early killing of “unwanted children” up to nine weeks gestation and is concerned that some District Health Boards are not providing this “health service” which they believe should be more available following the Abortion Legislation Act designed and promoted by the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.

Medical abortions further victimise women:-

  • By trivialising the killing of the unborn.
  • By violating informed consent by refusing to give the woman any information on the process of reversing the abortion process with high doses of progesterone after the taking of Mifepristone should she regret her decision and choose life for her child.
  • By imposing an incredible psychological burden on women. She has to accept full responsibility for the killing of her child for it is the woman who takes the lethal drug to kill her child.
  • By abandoning women to take the lethal drugs in her own home without medical support.
  • By failing to ensure that the woman is not subject to coercion, violence or threats of desertion.
  • By leaving the woman to dispose of the remains of her child. This is an appalling psychological trauma for women.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern openly condemns chemical warfare. In September 2018 she stated, “New Zealand condemns any use of chemical weapons, whether it is in Syria or on the streets of the UK. New Zealand believes all states must adhere to obligations under international law, including in respect of chemical weapons.”

It is inconsistent for the Prime Minister to denounce this crime against humanity, while at the same time giving approval for the use of weapons of mass destruction in chemical warfare in New Zealand in a bloody civil war against our own children.

The government is promoting chemical warfare against women and their precious unborn in the face of increasing opposition from doctors to be involved in surgical abortions that entail the violent dismemberment of the child. Medical abortions do not require a doctor and can now be done by nurse practitioners and midwives.

Prime Minister, why are midwives to be trained to kill?

Right to Life defends the duty of midwives to be the protector of the lives of unborn children and their mothers. For thousands of years civilisation has upheld the duty of midwives to be the guardian of the womb and the lives of unborn children. Midwifery is a noble profession dedicated to protecting life. The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, shamefully must accept responsibility for this deplorable attack on the ethics of the midwifery profession, for she was the architect of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020 which permits midwives and nurse practitioners to be killers not carers.  

Right to Life is absolutely appalled that the Associate Minister of Health, Dr Ayesha Verrall, who is responsible for promoting the killing of the unborn, has now announced that training will be given to midwives and nurse practitioners to enable them to kill unborn children in the first nine weeks of life. The scope of practice for these health professionals has now been changed to allow them to prescribe lethal drugs to kill the child by starvation. This is chemical warfare against our defenceless unborn disguised as “reproductive health care”.

Dr Verrall deceptively describes the lethal drugs designed to kill as “medication”. The first lethal drug taken is Mifepristone,  RU 486. The objective of Mifepristone is to block a natural substance (progesterone) that is needed for the baby to receive nourishment, the baby thus starves to death. The second drug is Misoprostol which causes the baby dead or alive to be expelled from the womb. This is cruel murder of the defenceless unborn child.

Right to Life is appalled that the Midwifery Council of New Zealand appointed by the government has now extended and gazetted its scope of practice to allow midwives, subject to education and training to prescribe lethal drugs to kill unborn children in medical abortions and to violently dismember children in surgical abortions.

The website of the Midwifery Council proudly proclaims, ‘Health and safety of mothers and babies comes first” and “Guardians of professional standards”. Right to Life asks how does the Council reconcile this noble objective with its acceptance of the murder of the unborn?

Our midwives enjoy a well- earned reputation as caring health professionals who since the beginning of the human race have enjoyed the love and respect of the community. What greater vocation is there than to have the privilege to care for expectant mothers and their precious and vulnerable unborn child. We the community ,have a duty to protect our midwives and their professional standards.

Every child is a unique and unrepeatable miracle of God’s creation that is endowed at conception with an inalienable right to life. It is an unspeakable outrage for the government to inflict on our respected midwives who are committed to protecting both mother and child, a direction that they have a responsibility to kill the unborn at the request of the mother, this is a violation of human rights and a crime against humanity. Right to Life applauds the many midwives who refuse to violate their ethics and refuse to kill their tiny patients.

There will be no place in the profession for those midwives who are not prepared to kill the innocent and defenceless unborn, for those who refuse to kill on the grounds of conscience, they will be compelled by law to refer the woman to a midwife or another health professional who would be prepared to kill. Why does the Prime Minister support the right of women to kill their children before birth but does not support the right of midwives to choose not to kill?

Right to Life requests that the government take urgent action to repeal this anti –life and anti- women legislation. We also urge that midwives in New Zealand defend their profession, its ethics and women and the unborn by refusing to submit to the government’s demand that they stain their hands with the blood of the innocent. They should be confident of the active support of the community.

Why is the Government of Jacinda Ardern offering Abortion up to Full Term of Pregnancy?

Right to Life asks the Minister of Health why the Abortion Legislation Act allows for the violent killing of babies up to the  full term of pregnancy. The Minister, Andrew Little, when as the Minister of Justice  presenting the Abortion Legislation bill at its first reading on 8th August 2019 told Parliament, that, “there was no such thing as a full term abortion”. “Stupid stuff and it would be if anybody believed there was any such thing as full term abortion-there isn’t”. The Minister’s claim is rebutted by information provided to Right to Life by the Ministry of Health  accepting that abortion was legal for the full term of pregnancy. Will the Minister now acknowledge that the Abortion law permits the killing of the unborn for the full nine months of pregnancy and that he will now seek to have the abortion law changed to outlaw the killing of the unborn up to full term?

The Ministry advised Right to Life in May in response to a request under the Official Information Act of the numbers of abortions in 2020 that were 24 weeks or more gestation. The information revealed that abortions up to 39 weeks had been reported to the Ministry by abortion providers.

 The Director General Of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, who presides over the abortion industry in New Zealand, has directed in the interim guidelines that from 22 weeks gestation to avoid a baby being born alive, potassium chloride be injected into the heart of the child to kill the baby to ensure that it is not born alive.

The Capital & Coast DHB advised Right to Life on 16 July in response to an Official Information Act request that medical abortions are unlikely to be available from 22 weeks as feticide would not be available except for severe fetal abnormality.

The DHB revealed that the provision of post 20 week abortions is potentially limited by conscientious objection in the midwifery and nursing workforce.

Right to Life commends and supports midwives and nurses who refuse to be involved in the killing of their weakest and most defenceless unborn patients.

Right to Life also commends doctors who refuse late term abortions on conscience grounds to killing the defenceless unborn for socio-economic reasons.

Right to Life is concerned that Capital & Coast DHB is,” succession planning to include changing its model of care to a nurse /midwife led model with training for nurse/midwife in dating scanning, pre –assessment, counselling and prescribing to be explored”. Abortion will then be for a woman and a nurse or midwife to decide. Is the killing of a child before birth to be considered too trivial to require the attention of a doctor?

Right to Life is also concerned that children with disabilities including Down syndrome are being killed in late term abortions. This supports the government’s search and destroy screening mission to eliminate Down syndrome by killing babies with Down syndrome. These are our beautiful people. It is estimated that 60 % of babies who are diagnosed through screening are killed before birth. It is shameful that the Prime Minister opposed protection for babies with Down syndrome being killed after 20 weeks gestation and was responsible for the defeat of the Supplementary Order Paper 459 of National MP, Melissa Lee, that would have outlawed these killings.

43% increase in Babies killed in late term Abortions in 2020

Following the introduction of Jacinda Ardern’s extreme Abortion Legislation Act 2020, there were 120 abortions in 2020, where the child was 20 or more weeks gestation. This was 36 more than the 84 abortions reported in 2019.

One of these defenceless babies killed was between 35 and 39 weeks gestation. As pregnancy is considered to be full term at 37 weeks, this abortion may have been performed just before birth. This justifies our claim that we now effectively have abortion on demand up to birth. These statistics are a burden on the conscience of the nation. Each one of these children was a unique and unrepeatable miracle of God’s loving creation, endowed with a right to life and created to love and to be loved.

There were 13,236 abortions reported in 2020, 288 more than the 12,948 reported in 2019. This Information was obtained by Right to Life from the Ministry of Health under the Official Information Act.

The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern loves children and has said that her reason for being in politics was for children. In March 2019 she said,” one of our goals and aspirations as a Government is to make New Zealand the best place in the world to be a child.”

This is pure rhetoric when her government has funded and authorised the killing of more than 13,000 innocent and defenceless New Zealand children in the womb in 2020. She is the architect of this anti-feminist legislation and Right to Life believes that she should accept responsibility for the increase in babies being killed, especially those in late term abortions.

The Ministry advised that abortion providers had failed to provide the gestational age for 189 babies killed. This is unprecedented and unacceptable. Right to Life believes that many of these abortions were late term.

There were 28 abortions performed by midwives in 2020. Under Jacinda Adern’s anti-life legislation midwives are now empowered to kill babies with lethal drugs. The government’s objective is to train midwives and practice nurses to do surgical abortions where the baby is violently and painfully dismembered or sucked from its mother’s womb. Why has the government perverted these noble professions that are dedicated to protecting life to professions that are being trained to kill?

It is absolutely shameful that the Midwifery Council supports and encourages its members becoming abortionists.

Midwifery is a noble profession that should be at the forefront in protecting mothers from the violence of abortion and being the courageous defender and protector of their tiny patient, the unborn child.

Private enterprise now also participates in the abortion industry with the Ministry reporting that Magma Health Care Ltd  clinics in Palmerston North performed 901 abortions and the Invercargill clinic performed 400 abortions,

Family Planning clinics reported performing 257 abortions.

Right to Life asks this question: Is the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, who is also the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction, unwittingly promoting the killing of the children of the poor, with the objective of reducing child poverty?

These 34 New Zealand Organisations Supported the Abortion Legislation Bill

Back in mid February 2020 prior to the passing of Jacinda Ardern’s Abortion Legislation Bill, NZ Family Planning (NZFP) sent a letter (see below), to all our MP’s in support of the Bill. It was signed by the leaders of 34 prominent national and regional organisations, many representing women.

Right to Life seriously questions whether the decision to sign this letter by their organisational heads is representative of the views of the majority of members actually working in many of the professions represented by them. Take for example the fact that one of the signatories to the letter was Allison Eddy, the CEO of the NZ College of Midwives. Right to Life doubts that the majority of Midwives in New Zealand would support their being required, as would appear to be the case under the new law, to not just be involved with, but rather to actually perform medical and surgical abortions. We think most New Zealanders, when they discover this, will find it abhorrent. Midwives are the guardians of life not purveyors of death.

Do the majority of members of the NZ Council of Women support our new laws which effectively allow abortion on demand up to birth? Again we have major doubts.

Right to Life urges those who value our unborn children to take action by contacting their MP to express concern about the provisions of this extreme bill. As we get nearer the election it is important that all those who uphold innocent human life do all they can to raise awareness and to push back on the encroaching culture of death.

As organisations and services working for the health, safety, rights, and wellbeing of New Zealanders, we strongly support the passage of the Abortion Legislation Bill.

At its core, this Bill is about supporting women and pregnant people’s autonomy, dignity and wellbeing.

A woman knows what makes sense for her health, her body and her future. She should be enabled to control her healthcare decisions. Health professionals must be able to provide their patients with the best care possible without unnecessary barriers.

Our current abortion laws – unchanged since 1977 – are out of date and not fit for purpose. They create unacceptable barriers to healthcare access; and in doing so increase the distress, delay and financial burden faced by someone who seeks to end a pregnancy. They also result in inequitable access to timely abortion services, particularly for women living in rural areas, people who already have limited access to healthcare, and people who are affected by physical and sexual violence.

We write to record our strong and united support for the Abortion Legislation Bill as a sensible framework for safe, legal and compassionate access to abortion care.

As the Members of Parliament who will determine whether or not this Bill becomes law, we urge you to vote yes for a more compassionate healthcare system in New Zealand.

Why does the Prime Minister Want Midwives to become Killers?

Right to Life is appalled that the Midwifery Council of New Zealand has now extended and gazetted its scope of practice to allow midwives, subject to education and training, to prescribe lethal drugs to kill unborn children in medical abortions and to violently dismember children in surgical abortions. This is a total violation of the ethics of the profession to protect mothers and their precious unborn.

Our midwives enjoy a well-earned reputation as caring health professionals who since the beginning of the human race have enjoyed the love and respect of the community. We the community have a duty to protect our midwives and their professional standards.

This surely is a violation of human rights and a crime against humanity.

Right to Life asks, ‘Prime Minister, why do you want midwives to become killers?’ The community should be aware that this assault on women and their unborn children is her responsibility as the architect of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020. It was Jacinda Ardern who worked closely with the Minister of Justice, Andrew Little to draft this infamous Bill.

Right to Life believes that requiring midwives to kill the unborn will destroy the profession. Why should a pregnant women trust a midwife who believes that killing their child before birth could be a treatment option?

There will be no place in the profession for those midwives who are not prepared to kill the innocent and defenceless unborn. The conscience provision in Section 46 of the earlier CS & A Act have now been repealed. Those who refuse to kill on the grounds of conscience will be compelled by law to refer the woman to a midwife who is prepared to kill.

Right to Life requests that the government take urgent action to repeal this anti-life and anti- women legislation. We also urge that midwives in New Zealand defend their profession, defend their ethics and defend women and the unborn by refusing to submit to the government’s demand that they stain their hands with the blood of the innocent. They should be confident of the active support of the community.

Dr Ashley Bloomfield asked if School Nurses will be able to perform surgical and medical abortions

Dear Dr Bloomfield,

Official Information Act – Request.

I wish to request under the Official Information Act the following information:-

  • Is it your intention to increase the scope of practice subject to training for midwives and nurse practitioners to be able to perform surgical abortions or prescribe medicines for medical abortions?
  • In the event that the scope of practice for nurses was increased to include medical and surgical abortions, would this include school and university health clinic nurses?
  • Would an increase in the scope of practice for nurses and midwives to include performing surgical abortions or prescribing medicines for medical abortions require a law change or be achieved by regulation?
  • What are the names of any association of registered health practitioners or other organisations that have expressed support for the proposal that nurses and midwives should perform surgical abortions or prescribe medicines for medical abortions?

allows a wider range of registered health practitioners (eg doctors, midwives, nurse practitioners) to provide abortions (subject to scopes of practice and training). Registered health practitioners will not be able to perform surgical abortions or prescribe medicines for medical abortions unless:
