Media Release 5 November 2022
Christopher Luxon, why do you and your caucus want to continue killing me?
Right to Life is appalled that the National Party supports the Jacinda Ardern’s government’s telehealth abortion Decide programme that will provide lethal drugs to poison babies up to 10 weeks gestation as pictured. This is an abomination, the ultimate in child abuse, violence against women and a crime against humanity. How can we do this to our own children and pretend that it is healthcare?
Dr Shane Reti, National Party spokesperson for health was reported by the media on 1st November as saying:-
“It made sense to improve access to abortion with a telehealth service.”
“National is supportive of New Zealanders getting better and easier access to healthcare.”
Right to Life questions Dr Reti’s statement. Abortion is not healthcare, the sole objective of abortion is to kill an innocent and defenceless human being before it is born. Why does it make sense to improve access to killing the unborn? What sense is there in giving lethal drugs to a woman by post or courier to undergo the trauma of killing her baby alone without medical supervision? What sense is there in allowing coercion, sexual abuse, incest and rape to remain hidden?
Dr Reti voted against the extremist Abortion Legislation Act, as a doctor he should be defending the sanctity of life ethic, why is he now abandoning his medical ethics and supporting violence against women and their defenceless unborn?
Right to Life believes that we have a serious moral obligation to elect to our parliament only those people who are committed to the defence of the sanctity of life of every human being from conception to natural death.
Dr Reti’s appalling statement defending the lethal poisoning of the unborn up to 10 weeks gestation together with the policy of his leader, Christopher Luxon, that he proclaimed on 27th June 2022 following the United States Supreme Court overturning the unconstitutional Roe v Wade, decision, “These laws will not be relitigated or revisited under a future National government, and these health services will remain fully funded.”
This statement disqualifies the National Party from governing this nation. National now joins Labour, ACT, Greens and the Maori Party who are all opposed to protecting our children. With these political parties in parliament, the most dangerous place for a New Zealander today is in its mother’s womb.
Right to Life asks why the National Party is not at the forefront in promoting legislation that recognises the unborn child as a human being with an inalienable right to life. If the National Party is really concerned about women’s health why are they not promoting real help for women to choose life for their precious baby? Why is the National Party not promoting adoption, foster care and parenting?
