International Women’s Day 2022
Right to Life supports the United Nations recognised International Women’s Day celebrated on 8th March. The theme for 2022 “gender equality for a sustainable future-break the bias”.
The Prime Minister, on International Women’s Day in 2020, stated that we should, ”help improve women’s access to equal opportunities” an admirable objective, but what opportunities does a normal healthy female have, who has been violently poisoned, sucked from her mother’s womb or dismembered limb from limb in a public hospital by a doctor employed by the State under the pretence that this is an essential health service with unlimited funding?
Please don’t tell us that you believe in women’s equality when you refuse to recognise that the unborn child is a human being, endowed with a right to life, a member of our family and a member of the team of five million.
We need to end discrimination against women and gender based violence. The greatest violence against women is the killing of their children in the sanctuary of the womb. It is estimated that in 2021 there were 56 million children in the world murdered before they were born, under the guise of health care.
How can we have gender equality when the most dangerous place for a female today is in her mother’s womb, when one in five females are killed before they are born?
The Police in New Zealand receive 100,000 family violence calls each year. It is estimated that 80% of family violence is not reported. There are 3,500 convictions against men for violence inflicted on women. Each year there are 14 women who are killed by their partner or ex partner. New Zealand has the highest rate of family violence in the developed world. Violence against women starts in the womb.
Nearly half of the children conceived are female. What greater violence is there against women than to be killed in the mother’s womb?
Should we then be surprised that if we condone the violence of abortion against women that we are living in an increasingly violent society with an increase in domestic violence?
If we truly want to live in a society that respects and honours women we must first respect and protect expectant mothers. At conception every child including the female child, is endowed by its Creator with an inalienable right to life and the right to be born.
