Media Release 22 December 2020
Right to Life supports the community residing in Counties Manukau who are opposed to having their hospital desecrated with the blood of innocent and defenceless unborn children. The community believes that their hospital should be dedicated to protecting the lives of its patients and promoting their health. Resistance is also commendably coming from senior staff and doctors who refuse on conscience grounds to kill the unborn.
The unborn child is a patient and should be treated with the utmost respect. The community, mainly Maori and Pasifica people , are to be applauded for resisting the increasing pressure being imposed upon them by those who believe that women will never be free until they have the right to kill their precious children before they are born.
The three Auckland District Health Boards are encouraging the establishment of an abortion facility at the Counties Manukau District Health Board [CMDHB]. It is their belief that women residing in Counties Manukau seeking an abortion should not be required to access an abortion at the Epsom Day Clinic at Green Lane Hospital. According to information provided by the CMDHB there were more than 1300 women from its area who had their unborn child killed in a first trimester abortion at Epsom Day Clinic in 2017.
Following the passing of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020, designed by the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, the killing of the defenceless unborn is now been promoted in her words as “ a reproductive health service”
Pregnancy is not a disease and abortion is not a health service, it is the only medical procedure that has the specific objective of killing another innocent and defenceless human being, the unborn child.
Right to Life believes that the new Associate Minister of Health Dr Ayesha Verall who is watching closely District Health Boards to ensure that women have access to killing centres, will be doing everything possible to exert pressure on the Counties Manukau DHB to establish a killing centre for the unborn.
