Right to Life has received the Broadcasting Standards Authority decision on a complaint made by Right to Life (and Family First) following the interview of Cecile Richards the CEO of Planned Parenthood of America on Radio New Zealand’s Saturday Morning programme. New Zealand’s Family Planning is of course an affiliate and daughter body of Planned Parenthood International. These organisations are at the forefront of promoting the abortion killing of unborn children under the guise of providing ‘reproductive rights’. The decision of the Broadcasting Standards Authority was most disappointing but not unexpected. Right to Life is committed to challenge any programme on radio or Television that undermines the right to life of human beings from conception to natural death.
For the BSA to say that this programme was not required to meet the requirements of the Code of Practice is respectfully challenged. Radio NZ claims that this was an in-depth interview which added to New Zealander’s overall intellectual understanding in a broad sense. This interview was certainly not an in depth interview and would have left listeners believing that Planned Parenthood was an advocate for women and was providing a wonderful service to the community. I readily agree that the activities of Planned Parenthood is not a matter of controversy for many New Zealanders. The reason for this is that the media have worked hard to ensure that the populace is not informed of the damage this organisation is inflicting on communities in the United States.
