As we move to level 2 it is fitting that we commend the Prime Minister, for seeking to protect the lives of the community and the vulnerable by declaring a national emergency to confront the coronavirus pandemic. During the six weeks lock down 21 New Zealanders have tragically lost their lives to Coronavirus.

However we must point out Prime Minister that during this period it is estimated that eighty times as many, 1,680 unborn children have been killed in abortions, funded by your government as a core health service. Each killing was  preventable.

Why are you ignoring these tragic deaths? The greatest threat to human life In New Zealand is not coronavirus but abortion.

The government has been at pains to present the image of a kind and caring  government.  In June 2019 the Prime Minister said that “every single life matters,” -but is that really true?

In a speech early this year she said, “know us by our deeds”

She is correct, we should know her by her deeds. A correct assessment is imperative as she seeks a further three years to impose her agenda of social engineering on our nation.

Jacinda Ardern was the architect of the extremist anti-life and anti-feminist Abortion Legislation Act. She was the person responsible for rushing this Act through Parliament with only a pretence of debate. This act declares that the unborn child is not a human being, does not have human rights and does not become a human being until it is born. It is now no longer a crime to kill an unborn child but in your words, ‘a reproductive choice for women.”

It was the Prime Minister who orchestrated the government member’s overwhelming opposition to eight amendments to the Abortion Bill which would have mitigated some suffering for those who are going to killed before birth and provided at least some legal protection for women and their unborn children. She was amongst those who  voted down every single one.

We believe that the Prime Minister is subverting Parliamentary democracy by refusing to answer questions asked of her by Right to Life concerning the reasons why she abandoned the disability community and condoning the killing of children with Down syndrome up to birth.

It was the Prime Minister with the overwhelming support of her Labour led government, who supported the anti-life euthanasia act, which would allow doctors to kill their patients or assist in their suicide.

The Prime Minister is the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction. It is disappointing that she refuses to accept that the greatest poverty for a child is to be violently deprived of its life before it is born. Is she hoping to reduce child poverty by encouraging the killing of the children of the poor by abortion?

A dispassionate appraisal of your deeds as Prime Minister would sadly conclude that you and your Labour led government are a continuing threat to the lives of the unborn, the disabled, the elderly and the seriously ill.

Continuing with Elective Abortion in Pandemic is Medically Irresponsible

Right to Life not only believes that all abortions are intrinsically evil but also that it is irresponsible for our country to be continuing to perform elective abortions during the coronavirus pandemic. Our public health system is in danger of being overwhelmed with critically ill patients infected with coronavirus. It is imperative that we conserve our health resources to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director General of Health has issued a directive that elective surgery should be postponed where possible in order to allow our Public Hospitals  to prepare to care for a great number of critically ill patients with coronavirus.

Why then are every day an estimated 28 unborn children in potentially normal pregnancies, as we speak even now, been violently dismembered and killed in an elective surgical abortion in our public hospitals. All of these elective abortions are unnecessary and preventable.

It is a tragedy that since the commencement of the lock down one elderly women has died in the Greymouth Public Hospital from coronavirus. It is also tragic that during this period an estimated 175 innocent unborn children have been killed mainly in Public Hospitals.

Pregnancy is not health care or a disease like the corona virus. Nor is it a treatment or cure for any malady known to medical science. 98% of abortions are done for socio-economic reasons masquerading as a serious danger to mental health. These abortions are not done to protect women’s health or to save women’s lives. Many are inflicted on desperate women who are being coerced with threats of violence and abandonment by the father of the child.

The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern and her government, believe that abortion is “a reproductive choice for women” and that abortion is health care and an essential health service that must not be curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic. Abortion is not a legitimate health service as it is the only health service that has the specific objective of killing a patient, a defenceless and innocent unborn child. The mother is the second victim of the killing of her child as she is wounded and left with a lifetime of sorrow and grief.

Medical Associations representing more than 30,000 physicians in the United States who practice medicine in accordance with the Hippocratic Oath decry the call to continue elective abortion in the United States during the coronavirus pandemic.

Elective abortions have no place in our health services which should be dedicated to the promotion of health and protection of the lives of its patients. The unborn child is a patient who should be treated with the greatest respect.

Prime Minister, are you really serious about protecting human life?

It is the first duty of the State to protect the lives of every member of the community from conception to natural death and not to preside over our destruction.

The government and Parliament are commended for declaring a state of emergency to confront the threat to human life presented by the coronavirus pandemic and to protect the lives of New Zealanders. Prime Minister, when is your government going to declare a national emergency to protect the lives of the more than 13,000 unborn children who are murdered each year in abortions?

This is the same Parliament and government that only one week ago, while other Parliaments were giving urgency to debating a response to the Coronavirus pandemic, debated abortion legislation for four hours and rushed through Parliament the anti-life and anti-women Abortion Legislation Bill that would remove the right to life and facilitate the killing of our unborn children and cause damage to the physical and mental health of their mothers. The same parliament on the same day spent only 2.5 hours debating their response to the fast evolving Coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Bloomfield, Director General of Health told media all our DHBs have plans in place to scale down their current activity, which may include elective surgery and outpatient appointments to free up capacity and staff. Abortion is elective surgery. Right to Life requests that abortions be stopped to free up capacity and staff to concentrate on helping Coronavirus patients.

Prime Minister, are you really serious about wanting to protect the lives of all New Zealanders? While Coronavirus represents a grave threat with as unknown magnitude, abortion also poses a great threat to the lives of New Zealanders who are alive but not yet born. One in five defenceless children in the womb will be innocent victims of abortion. The fatality rate from abortion for the unborn is 100%. To keep things in perspective, we should be aware that since the declaration of emergency on Wednesday more than 70 unborn children have been violently killed in abortions in New Zealand.

Every day an estimated 35 innocent and defenceless unborn children are taken to our Public Hospitals to be violently killed in abortion under the pretext that this is health care. These are the same Hospitals that are now preparing to treat seriously ill patients who may contract coronavirus.

It is fervently hoped that there will be no fatalities resulting from Coronavirus during the period of lockdown. There will however be more than 1,000 unborn children killed during this initial four week period by doctors who are sworn to protect life. The deaths of all these children are preventable.

The abortion industry is deemed to be an essential service and is unaffected by the lock down. It is designated a core health service with unlimited funding and no waiting list. It is elective surgery with abortion on demand for any reason up to 20 weeks gestation and up to birth if two doctors believe that it is ‘appropriate’. There is nothing that can impede the abortion industry, not even a national emergency.

The NZ Church is Coming Together Against the Abortion Legislation Bill

It is very encouraging to see the New Zealand churches responding and finally standing up in opposition to the Abortion Legislation bill. Letters have been sent to Jacinda Ardern from New Zealand’s Church leaders expressing major concern over this bill.

Church leaders in Auckland have sent Jacinda Ardern a letter condemning the bill (See below), Christchurch leaders have now joined in opposition to it. We believe other churches are following with more statements. This is truly unprecedented in New Zealand and signals the awakening of a sleeping giant.

A letter to the Prime Minister & Members of Parliament from the Christian Churches of Canterbury

Dear Prime Minister & Members of Parliament,

The Christian Churches of Canterbury which are listed below, who represent 21,356 people within our great nation, wish to strongly state their opposition to the proposed Abortion Legislation Bill which is currently being considered.
Both science and reason point to the fact that those within the womb are no less human than those outside of the womb, only differing in terms of their size, level of development, environment, and degree of dependency.
As the current elected government, you have been entrusted with the weighty responsibility of protecting the human rights of every living New Zealander, especially those who are the most defenceless and vulnerable.
In the attempt to uphold the rights of some New Zealanders, this Abortion Legislation Bill fatally terminates the rights of others, which is why we urge you to reconsider your support of this Bill, and vote NO at the 3rd and final reading.
In this final hour, we pray that you will have the courage to make the right decision, standing up for the rights of those kiwis who are without a voice.

Parliament Defeats Born Alive Amendment to Abortion Bill

Do the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern and the Minister of Justice approve of the infanticide of babies born alive in a late term abortion?

Parliament last night (10th March), voted 80 to 37 to defeat an amendment proposed by Simon O’Connor to the government Abortion Legislation Bill. The amendment proposed that a “qualified health practitioner who performed the abortion that results in the birth of a child, or any other health practitioner present at the time the child is born, has a duty to provide the child with appropriate medical care and treatment.”

The commendable object of this amendment was to ensure that the child would receive the same medical care and treatment as any other child who was born. This is the care that any decent society would provide its children. International experience reveals that babies are sometimes born alive after abortion and often cry for help.

It is appalling that 80 MPs were opposed to the amendment which made it clear that doctors had a serious obligation to provide this critical health care.

It is acknowledged that the objective of abortion is to deliver a dead baby (that has been violently killed), The last thing an abortionist wants is a live baby after completing an abortion.

The government Abortion Bill is at pains to ignore the truth that abortion concerns two patients, the mother and the child. The government is silent on the purpose of the Bill which is to facilitate the murder of an innocent and defenceless unborn child. It is therefore understandable that Parliament would collude to defeat this amendment which gives recognition to the truth that :-

The unborn child is a human being.

The child has right to life that needs to be respected and protected.

Medical practitioners have a duty to protect life and not to destroy it.

It is very disturbing that our Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and the majority of her government made the decision to vote against this important amendment. One would expect that any humane person would extend at least this minimum care to a child who had survived murderous intent. However it is clear that even this concession was a bridge to far for those who recognise that any moderation to the legal ‘right’ to kill carries the risk to the holy grail of “CHOICE”.

Right to Life asks our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern as a woman and a loving mother of a child, why did you oppose this amendment to provide health care to a child that had survived the horror of a late term abortion?

Andrew Little’s Abortion Bill, the Final Solution for Unwanted Children

The Minister of Justice is aware that to legalise the killing of those unborn children classified as unwanted, it is necessary to deny their humanity and their human rights. He has done this at the direction of the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.

The government’s Abortion Legislation Bill denies the humanity and the human rights of the unborn and removes those to be killed from the protection of the Crimes Act.

There are similarities between the final solution of Nazi Germany and the final solution of Andrew Little. Both are government funded and authorised programmes. There is a direct parallel between those innocent and defenceless victims murdered by the Nazi’s and the innocent and defenceless victims who are being rejected by our community as unwanted. Both had been denied their humanity and their right to life. Both were murdered under the guise that this was a health service. The bodies of the victims were and are incinerated as medical waste. The victims were nameless and the only record of the victims is in statistical records.

Are we unwittingly following the example of the Nazi leader, Heinrich Himmler, head of the Gestapo and SS and the author of the final solution to exterminate European Jews. He knew that it was necessary to deny the humanity of Jews and their human rights to justify their killing. In May 1923, Adolph Hitler asserted, “The Jews are undoubtedly a race, but not human.” It was the Supreme Court in Germany later in 1923 that declared that Jews were not human beings and persons with human rights.

Right to Life makes no apology for making this analogy and for speaking up in defence of women and their unborn and are empowered by the words of the famous German minister Martin Niemöller who was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp who famously said:-

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Right to Life applauds the courageous 31 MPs who voted to defend life by voting against the Bill. We now request that the 81 MPs who voted to support the Jacinda Ardern led Labour government Abortion Legislation Bill at its second reading now withdraw their support at the third reading.

Jacinda Ardern and Andrew Little Upset at being exposed to the Violence of Abortion

“Prime Minister, we the unborn have no voice. We must then let our broken and bloodied bodies speak to you.”

The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern and the Minister of Justice, Andrew Little were upset that Members of Parliament should see graphic pictures of defenceless and weak unborn children who have been violently killed in abortions.

Right to Life asks them that if graphics exposing the bodies of the brutally murdered victims of abortion are so horrible that you cannot stand to look at them, why do you tolerate and facilitate their murder?

Members of the pro-life movement gathered peacefully outside Parliament on the day of the second reading of the anti-women and anti -life Abortion Legislation Bill. Several members held heart rendering graphic pictures of aborted babies.

The Prime Minister, who has enthusiastically sponsored her Labour led government bill, said she was personally against the use of such images.

“I just think that’s not a way to share the legitimate views that other people will have,”

“People will have their own views and they should be able to freely express them. But people should also be mindful that those who have gone through some of these experiences, that will weigh heavy for many.”

Prime Minister, every abortion results in a dead baby. How can we debate your Bill when you refuse to acknowledge that abortion kills an innocent human being?

Right to Life sympathises with the Prime Minister, it is very disturbing to see pictures of the dismembered and bloodied bodies of children who have been violently killed.
Right to Life believes that if we are going to engage in a respectful and informed debate about abortion it is important to consider the objective of abortion. Every abortion results in a violently killed child.

Justice Minister Andrew Little also objected to the use of such images.

“New Zealanders on average have a low level of tolerance for that sort of extremism. If these people want to go around upsetting the rest of New Zealand, that’s their call.”
Minister, why is it extreme to graphically depict the results of your ill -conceived abortion Bill? Is it not your Bill that is extreme? Is It not you and your extreme abortion  Bill that is upsetting the rest of New Zealand?

“We are the unborn, we are the weakest and most defenceless members of our human family. Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, why do you want to kill us, why are you not protecting us?

From the moment of conception we are human beings endowed with an inalienable right to life. We come to bless our nation, we want to love and be loved. You choose not to hear our silent scream, as the abortionist forces his way into our home intent on violently killing us. You do not hear our voice so let the graphic pictures of our bloodied and dismembered bodies speak to you.”

Parliament Abandons Protecting Women & Unborn Children

Last night Parliament shamefully passed the Abortion Legislation Bill by 81 to 39
Parliament believes that the unborn child is not a human being and has no right to life until it is born. That the unborn child is a chattel and is the property of the mother. That it is not a crime to kill an unborn child and that It may be killed as “a reproductive health choice.”


The State has a duty to protect the lives of every member of the community from conception to natural death. It has a special duty to protect the unborn who are the weakest and most defenceless member of our human family.

Right to Life commends those Members who spoke in the debate and voted in defence of women and the right to life of their unborn and in opposition to this appalling anti-women and anti-life Bill.

This is a sad day for women and their precious unborn who have an absolute right to have the love and protection of the community to do everything possible to protect the life of her child.

Justice Minister Andrew Little objected to the use of graphic pictures by pro-life demonstrators at Parliament yesterday, saying “New Zealanders on average have a low level of tolerance for that sort of extremism. If these people want to go around upsetting the rest of New Zealand, that’s their call.” Right to Life agrees the real life pictures of bloodied and dismembered unborn children is very upsetting. We hope that the Minister is upset. We believe that he is in denial. He needs to understand that abortion is violence against the weakest and most defenceless member of our human family.

Mother and child have had the protection of the Crimes Act section 182, Killing an Unborn Child, since 1856. Parliament has now cruelly withdrawn that protection.

It is a sad commentary on our Parliament that the lives of our unborn children are considered of little value and have little protection while we give absolute protection for eight endangered birds. An offence endangering the lives of these birds could result in two years imprisonment or a fine up to $100,000.

There are fifty endangered species that include the Katipo spider, weasels and beetles.

The Wildlife Act 1953 Section 67A states that it is an offence punishable by up to 6 months in prison and/or a fine of up to $100,000 plus $5000 per extra head of wildlife or egg disturbed or destroyed.

Why does the Katipo spider have absolute protection for its life while our own unborn children have absolutely no protection?

The Bill now awaits its third reading.

Abortion Legislation Bill Second Reading Tonight Urgent and Final Appeal

Dear Friends,

We understand that the crucial second reading of the Abortion Legislation Bill is going to be tonight Tuesday 3rd March after the MP’s have met for dinner.

This is a last and final appeal for you to contact early today, as many of the MP’s who voted for the bill at its first reading before the vote. We also appeal to you to take to social media and to the talk back channels this week. We provide below a list of MP’s and contact details. These MP’s are especially important to contact. Please encourage them to vote NO.

Will you join us in praying and fasting for the little ones, more and more of whom will lose their lives because of this pernicious, wicked bill.

Ardern is determined to ram it through as soon as possible. It is highly disturbing that our Prime Minister thinks that this issue rather than all the other very pressing matters that concern this country, needs immediate attention. The reason? She and many of our MP’s want it out of the way well before the election. Will we forget at the election. No!

It is a shocking indictment on our country that instead of protecting innocent life that our government is now enacting a bill that will facilitate their destruction.

There will be prayer going up all around the country and at Parliament tomorrow and this week. Will you add you prayers and voice?

No matter what happens it is important that we do not give up. We will not abandon the unborn children to the dictates of an unjust society.

“Know Us By Our Deeds” – Indeed

Parliament has duty to Protect Unborn Children and their Mothers from the violence of abortion.The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern states that we should “know us by Our Deeds”

The Prime Minister is correct, we do know her by her deeds. As our appointed leader she and her government’s most important duty is to protect the right to life of every New Zealander from conception to natural death. Those MPs who betray that duty forfeit their right to sit in our Parliament. At the next election she and her government will be judged on the way they have protected the most vulnerable in our community. Today the most vulnerable in our community are our unborn. Tragically today the most dangerous place for a New Zealander is in its mother’s womb.

Every day in New Zealand an estimated 35 unborn children in potentially normal pregnancies are taken to Public Hospitals and abortion clinics to be violently murdered, authorised and funded by her Labour led government.

The law of God is written in the hearts of man. It is the commandment of our Creator, that we should not kill. The total prohibition of the killing of an innocent human being is the foundation of the law and of medicine. We violate this commandment at our peril. Why then is it the wish of our Prime Minister that we pretend that it is no longer a crime to kill an unborn child? It is her wish supported by the Minister of Justice that the killing of a child in the womb be “a reproductive choice for women.”

This is a grave injustice, no government has authority to repeal a commandment of our Creator. The Prime Minister should be aware that she is in danger of calling down the wrath of God on our nation by challenging the authority of God.

Right to Life requests that  Members of Parliament uphold this commandment by defending the lives of our unborn children by voting against the anti-women and anti-life government Abortion Legislation Bill at its second reading.

There will be a general election in September and those Members of Parliament who choose to support the Abortion Legislation Bill at its second reading should expect many in the electorate to withhold electoral support for them.
