Health NZ applauded for protecting unborn children!

Media Release 15 February 2025

Right to Life commends and supports Health NZ’s new health initiative to protect unborn children from the devastating effects to their health resulting from their mothers consuming alcohol during pregnancy.

The Ministry invites the community to join this movement to protect the weakest and most defenceless members of our human family with this beautiful statement:-

“Nurture the Future Within”

“Join the movement to nurture the future within. Let’s work together to protect unborn children and create a healthier, more inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand.”

Right to Life believes that this enlightened statement from the Ministry highlights important fundamental truths:-

• That the unborn child is a human being from the moment of conception, who has been endowed by their Creator with human rights, the foundation right being a right to life.

• That all unborn children, without exception, have a right to protection of their health and life.

• That a child’s mother has a responsibility to protect the health and life of her child.

• That protecting the lives of unborn children and their mothers is the duty and responsibility of the whole community and no one is exempt.

Right to Life asks the Ministry: How can it consistently defend life when it presides over and funds the abortion industry in New Zealand which resulted in 16,277 defenceless unborn New Zealanders being poisoned, sucked out of their mother’s womb or being violently dismembered in abortions in 2023?

This is a war against women who are physically, psychologically and spiritually wounded by the murder of their children. Our women deserve better, pregnancy is not a disease and abortion is not health care.

Right to Life applauds the Ministry for recognising that unborn children are human beings deserving of our love and protection. Right to Life believes that it is an abomination for the government to inflict on the Ministry the responsibility to preside over the killing of the unborn and the vulnerable in our community under the pretext that it is a “health service”. We ask that the Ministry in defence of life, request the government to repeal the extremist Abortion Legislation Act 2020.
