The publication which follows is a re-post from the Law Commission’s website calling for public submissions on the issue of NZ law relating to abortion. It comes in direct response to a directive from our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to put aside other work the Law Commission is involved in and expedite investigations into how Abortion can be removed from the NZ Crime statutes.
Right to Life believes that this is an appalling move that comes at a time when the humanity of the unborn child has never been more recognised and flies in the face of everything the government is advocating egarding the rights of the disadvantaged. While all manner of effort is being made to protect those who at risk there is one group of human beings, the unborn, who are directly in the crosshairs and targeted for further destruction. Ardern has made it her personal agena to remove the last remaining constraints available to protect the unborn, inherent in our Crimes Act legislation.
Jacinda Ardern has already informed in response to an OIA request by Right to Life that she has no evidence to support her contention that abortion criminalises women and that it should be treated as a health issue and taken out of the Crimes Act.
In response to the call by the Law Commission for submissions Right to Life urges all concerned citizens to respond by making their concerns known by making a submission. This need not be a lengthy one, even a few sentences would be effective in informing the Law Commission of the concerns of the community. Submissions must be made by 5 pm on the 18th of May. Addresses to repsond to are given in the body of the Commissions media release below.
The Law Commission Media Release reads as follows….
