Right to Life makes no apology for advocating for the poorest children in New Zealand. Child poverty begins in the womb. The most abject poverty that an innocent and defenceless child can experience is to be violently deprived of their life before birth. Every year in New Zealand more than 12,000 children are the innocent victims of this horrific poverty.
While It is commendable that the Prime Minister is passionate about reducing child poverty, it is totally hypocritical of her to in the same breath, be advocating for the decriminalisation of abortion.
She has appointed herself as the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction. It is however a cause of great concern and disappointment that the Prime Minister in her speech on child poverty presented on Wednesday 31 January indicated no recognition of the plight of our most vulnerable children in the womb, nor her intention to reduce the appalling poverty faced by 12,000 children who are deprived of their precious life every year.
