Family Planning – promoting a culture of death

Right to Life is concerned that Family Planning in their war against women and their precious unborn children are seeking to deceive women into believing that the murder of the unborn child in a medical abortion is a miscarriage.

 Family Planning states on its web site that ”an early medical abortion brings on a miscarriage similar to a natural miscarriage.”

“Two medications are taken for an EMA. Usually, the medications are taken two days apart, but if the pregnancy is less than seven weeks (49 days) you may be able to take both medications on the same day.”

“Once you have taken the medication you go home to miscarry the pregnancy.”

Family Planning is seeking to deceive women into believing that a medical abortion is similar to a miscarriage, however it isn’t. The medical definition of a miscarriage is, ”spontaneous or unplanned expulsion of a fetus from the womb, before 20 weeks”.

To call an abortion a miscarriage is untrue and is deeply offensive to women who have experienced pain and grief from the tragic loss of a much loved and wanted baby.

Family Planning is at the forefront in promoting the killing of children in the womb who are unwanted. It supported the decriminalisation of abortion and the right of women to kill their baby for any reason up to birth. It does not recognise the humanity of the unborn child nor does it recognise the child’s right to life. It does not recognise the unborn child as a unique and unrepeatable miracle of God’s loving creation.

Family Planning is the major abortion referral agency in New Zealand.

In 2020, 246 unborn children were killed at its Tauranga clinic.

Family Planning is a loyal affiliate of the International Planned Parenthood Federation [IPPF] that was responsible for the killing of more than one million unborn children in 2020. Planned Parenthood supports the forced abortion policy of the Chinese government.

The IPPF promotes worldwide a culture of death under the guise of promoting a “woman’s right to choose”,  but this is a lie. The IPPF and the NZFPA are complicit in the most horrendous human rights abuses against women that the world has ever known. The Chinese Family Planning Association became an affiliate of IPPF in 1983. The IPPF has funded the Chinese Family Planning Association and has cooperated with it in implementing China’s notorious one child family policy, which has now been relaxed.

China’s one child family policy started in 1979, and has resulted in forced abortions, 196 million compulsory sterilisations, the mandatory insertion of 403 million forced intrauterine devices, punitive fines, imprisonment, destruction of homes and loss of employment.

Sex selection abortions have resulted in 37 million missing girls. Since 1971 there have been 330 million abortions in China.

Right to Life challenges Family Planning to tell the women of New Zealand how the Association  can condone the massive human rights abuses against women in China and claim that they support a women’s right to choose to have a baby?

Right to Life asks, why does the government continue to fund IPPF and the NZFPA in its unrelenting war against women. Why too does the media refuse to expose the anti- life agenda of the NZFPA and treats Family Planning as the champions of women?

“A woman’s Right To Choose” – A Cruel Deception

Nobody has the right to choose to kill another innocent human being. It is an intolerable injustice and a betrayal of women for the government of Jacinda Ardern to deceive women with the lie that women have a right to kill their children before they are born. It was the Hon Andrew Little who faithfully promoted this deception when presenting the Abortion Legislation bill at its first reading in 2019 by reminding Parliament that the unborn child was not a human being and did not have a right to life until it was born, this is a legal fiction. These chilling words were reminiscent of the Nazi Jewish holocaust when the Nazis justified the murder of Jews by denying the humanity and right to life of Jews.  

The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, claims to be a feminist and reminds us that New Zealand led the way in granting women the vote in 1893. Why then does the Prime Minister not support the right of women to be born?

Since she took office in 2017 more than 20,000 babies who would have grown to be women have been denied the right to vote because they were first denied the right to be born, having been killed before birth as health care authorised and funded by the government as a core health service. This is both anti-life and anti-feminist, it is an appalling injustice to women and a crime against humanity.

It is a monstrous lie that has contributed to pain and suffering, for millions of women throughout the world and to the killing of innocent and defenceless unborn children. Never before in the history of mankind has such a blatant lie promoted by Family Planning and the International Planned Parenthood Federation in its war against women, its promotion of a culture of death, been the cause of such misery and destruction.

The slogan “a woman’s right to choose” was invented in 1969 by Dr Bernard Nathanson, a founder of the American, National Association for Repeal of Abortion Laws. He later had a conversion and actively defended the right to life of the unborn when he saw on an ultra sound screen an unborn child with its mouth open in a silent scream, struggling to stay alive in the midst of an abortion.

Dr Nathanson later said that he always knew it was a lie. We knew it was not true, they knew it was not true and now society at large knows that it is not true. It is a monstrous lie.

Right to Life believes that the government also knows that it is a monstrous lie.

What then specifically is the pro-death movement trying to hide under the disarming slogan, “a woman’s right to choose”. It is none other than a right to kill another human being, not one who is able to defend itself from attack but the weakest and most defenceless member of the human family, an unborn child who is a unique and unrepeatable miracle of the Creator. The destruction of God’s precious infants will bring down the wrath of God on society.

In the biblical book, Deuteronomy it says, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life that your children may live.” As a society, we must do all we can to help women choose life for their children. God will not bless a nation that kills its own children.

Government Supports Discrimination Against Women in the Womb !

The government of Jacinda Ardern, in passing the Abortion Legislation Act, designed by the Prime Minister, have legalised the killing of female children because they are not male, effectively up to birth. It is appalling that a child should be murdered not because it exists but because it is female. This is a diabolical act of violence and discrimination. Right to Life will not rest until this anti-life and anti-feminist Act is repealed.

 Prior to the passing of this Act on 18th March 2020, a sex selection abortion was a crime. Melissa Lee, a National MP, presented a Supplementary Order Paper 478 to amend the bill to make sex selection abortions unlawful and to impose a penalty of up to seven years imprisonment for doctors found guilty of knowingly performing a sex selection abortion. This protection was shamefully opposed and defeated by the government 70 votes to 50. How can the government claim to represent women?

The government’s support for allowing sex selection abortions up to birth, is opposed by our community. A poll conducted by Curia Marketing on behalf of Family First in April, 2019 revealed that of the 1,013 persons polled 90% opposed sex selection abortions with only 4% in support.

According to the European Parliament, there are 200 million women missing in the world. The major reason for this is sex selection, abortions which happen in every nation but predominately in Asian countries, China, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. In China, 113 boys are born for every 100 girls. The social effects on a nation of such a serious gender imbalance is catastrophic.

How can the government and the NZFPA claim to represent women when they support violence and discrimination against women? A sex selection abortion is a double betrayal of women for it victimises two women, the mother and her daughter in the womb. This is the ultimate in discrimination against women. The discrimination is compounded by the fact that in spite of the mother desperately wanting to protect the life of her precious daughter, she is often the subject of abuse and coercion by the father of the child who for cultural and social reasons or personal reasons, wants only a male child.

“We wish to ensure that all New Zealand women can enjoy their human rights and fundamental freedoms without discrimination on the basis of sex.”

The government should be aware that sex selection abortions are a violation of the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The United Nations Committees appointed to review compliance with these conventions by member nations have “recommended that state parties monitor implementation of national legislation prohibiting sex selection abortions.”

Right to Life fully supports women being valued and respected because of their intrinsic dignity and their children in the womb, both male and female being afforded effective legal protection for their inalienable right to life. The Society fully supports CEDAW [Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women and the CRC [Convention on the Rights of the Child]

Pro-Life Petition on Safe Areas Amendment Closing Soon

International Women’s Day – The right of Women to be Born.

Today is International Women’s Day, with the theme “choose to challenge.” Right to Life chooses to challenge and passionately supports women’s equality and believes that respect for the rights of women begins in the womb. At conception every child, including the female child, is endowed by its Creator with an inalienable right to life.

Today, thanks to the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, the architect of the extremist anti-feminist and anti-life Abortion Legislation Act the most dangerous place for a woman is in her mother’s womb.

Unborn children including females may now be killed for any reason up to 20 weeks. After 20 weeks they may be killed up to birth if a doctor considers it “appropriate.” Every year more than 12,000 unborn children, which includes nearly 6,000 innocent and defenceless female children are violently killed in their mother’s womb

How can Jacinda Ardern claim to support gender equality and the rights of women when she refuses to accept that females in the womb are human beings endowed with a right to life?  She has declared that it was not a crime to kill an unborn child, including a female child as it was not a human being and did not have human rights until it was born. Authentic feminism is non-violent, non-discriminatory and defends the weak and defenceless.

The Hon. Jan Tinetti,  in a media release stated that the government was celebrating women. How can you celebrate women when your government is funding each year the violent killing of more than 6,000 females in their mother’s womb?

The Prime Minister, on International Women’s Day in 2020, stated that we should, ”help improve women’s access to equal opportunities,” an admirable objective, but what opportunities does a normal healthy female have who has been violently dismembered limb from limb in a public Hospital by a doctor employed by the State under the pretence that this is an essential health service with unlimited funding? Please don’t tell us that you believe in women’s equality.

Right to Life is passionate about women’s rights and is campaigning for legal recognition of the right of women to be born. It is disappointing that the Prime Minister does not currently support the right of women to be born.

Government’s Conspiracy of Silence Descends over Killing of Unborn

The Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, the architect of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020, has redefined who is human. She determined that the killing of the unborn was to be a “reproductive health issue.”  It is no longer a crime to kill an unborn child because it is not a human being. It becomes a human being with a right to life when it is born. This is a legal fiction used to justify the war against women and the state funded genocide of our children.

This state-funded genocide, as desired by the Prime Minister, is now presided over by the Director General of Health, Dr Bloomfield. He has appointed the Abortion Services Team to organise the genocide under the guise that the killing is a core or essential health service.

The Abortion Supervisory Committee commendably previously produced a 30 page annual report with 11 pages of important statistics concerning abortions in New Zealand, this has now ceased. It is the government’s intention to ensure that Parliament and the community are deprived of as much information as possible to avoid scrutiny and public debate.

To ensure this objective is achieved, the abortionist is required to provide minimal information on the Notification of Abortion form. The following critical information is not required to be divulged:-

•         Many women seek an abortion because of coercion, threats of violence and abandonment, this will not be divulged.

•         The reason why the life of the unborn child was ended, was it done on the pretext to save the mental health of the mother or to prevent serious harm to save the life of the mother. Was it done for sex selection purposes, socioeconomic reasons, or because the child was diagnosed as having Down syndrome, a minor to moderate disability or for some other disability ?

Right to Life believes the government does not want us to know how successful their search and destroy campaign to eliminate children with Down syndrome may be.

•         When a baby is killed post 20 weeks because the abortionist has deemed it appropriate, no information is required from the abortionist  as to why it was appropriate.

•         Whether or not a woman seeks pre-decision or post-abortion counselling.

•         If the pregnancy is the result of rape or sexual violation.

•         Was the abortion carried out in a hospital or was it a medical abortion that was performed at home without medical supervision.

•         In the rare event that a woman dies in an abortion, her death is not required to be reported on the Abortion Notification Form.

Right to Life believes that this Notification of Abortion form fails to recognise the dignity or health of women and their precious unborn children. There is a conspiracy of silence which further victimises women and treats them with contempt. Pregnancy is not a disease and abortion is not health care. Women with unplanned pregnancies deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. Right to Life has made a substantial submission to the Abortion Services Team on 2nd November requesting that the above questions be included in the Notification of Abortion form. Right to Life is committed to the freedom of information to sustain the ongoing national debate on respect for the sanctity of life and respect for women.

Abortion Legislation Bill 2020 Extremities Summarised by Family First

Family First’s partnership website Choose Life recently posted a very comprehensive article summarising the glaring problems and extreme provisions within the Jacinda Ardern’s, recently enacted 2020 Abortion Legislation Act. The post also exposes how amendments that would have mitigated the more extreme aspects of the bill, such as the born alive provision and fetal pain provision were all voted down by a majority of our MP’s. The implications of these amendments being rejected is quite frankly shocking.

Why is NZ First Betraying its Supporters?

Right to Life is appalled that NZ First is deserting its support base by giving critical support to the ant-life and anti- feminist agenda of the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern and the Minister of Justice, Andrew Little.

Andrew Little has been directed by the Prime Minister to present a government bill to take the killing of the unborn out of the Crimes Act and to make the killing health care and “a reproductive choice for women”. The support of Winston Peters and his caucus for this proposed bill is absolutely critical for without this support the Labour Party would not be able to proceed with the proposed anti -feminist and anti-life bill, it would have the ignominious fate that this bill deserves.

The stunning betrayal by NZ First of the women of New Zealand and our precious unborn is unparalleled in the history of New Zealand. It is a declaration:

  • That the State has no duty to protect the lives of New Zealanders in their first nine months of life 
  • That the killing of an unborn child is not a crime 
  •  that it is a woman’s right to choose to terminate the life of her child for any reason up to 22 weeks, effectively up to birth if a doctor thinks that it is appropriate
  • That sex selection abortions should be legal.

At the 2017 general election NZ First received 186,706 party votes which was 7.2 % of the total party votes. In a Reid Research poll conducted in February 2019, NZ First received 2.9 % support from those polled. On current polling NZ First would be expected to have NO Members of Parliament elected at the 2020 general election.

A poll of a 1,000 respondents conducted by Curia Market Research on behalf of Family First in December 2017 revealed that 96% of NZ First voters were opposed to sex selection abortions. That 38% were opposed to abortions being performed after 15 weeks and a further 10 % were opposed to abortions being done at all. 73 % were opposed to abortions and wanted them reduced.

Right to Life now asks, how is Winston Peters going to convince the electorate that the killing of the unborn child is no longer a crime and is to be “a reproductive choice for women”? Why should the electorate trust Winston Peters to protect women and the unborn when he had stated publicly in 2014 that he was opposed to the decriminalisation of abortion and now in 2019 that he supports the decriminalisation of abortion?

It is still not too late. Right to Life earnestly requests that Winston Peters take the mantle of statesman and stand on the high moral ground by courageously reaffirming his opposition to the decriminalisation of abortion and withdrawing his support for the anti-life agenda of the Labour Party and the proposed evil bill to decriminalise abortion. This could be his finest hour when he becomes the defender of women and our precious unborn.

United Nations International Women’s Day – preventing violence against Women

Right to Life fully supports the International Women’s Day 8 March, to promote gender equality, and to oppose discrimination including violence against Women. We  commend the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for speaking out against violence against women. Violence against women and girls is an international problem of pandemic proportions. Violence against women is always a violation of human rights; it is always a crime and it as always unacceptable.

Right to Life asks the Prime Minister “how can you oppose violence against women and yet support the violence done in abortion against women and their precious unborn? How can you say you are opposed to violence against women and yet say that killing a woman in the womb is not a crime but a “reproductive health choice for women?”

Andrew Little on 27 October 2018 made the following comments on Newshub Nation, in response to concerns about the options put forward by the Law Commission. He said in regards to the potential lack of safeguards concerning sex-selection abortions, that women are “quite capable of making these judgements themselves. I don’t buy into this argument that we should start working through a checklist of potential things, reasons why women might seek an abortion.”

Right to Life believes that this statement by Little shows an appalling discrimination against women in the first nine months of their lives in the womb. What in effect he is saying, is that he believes gender should be a ground for abortion. We believe that the vast majority of New Zealanders would be shocked by a Miniser of Justice making such statements which may be construed as his support of sex selective abortion

The Police in New Zealand received over one hundred thousand in fact, 118,910 family violence calls to be exact, in 2017.  There were 13 women killed by their partner or ex partner in 2015. Violence against women takes many forms. It is disappointing that our community is in denial and refuses to recognise that abortion is violence against vulnerable women and their unborn child. An abortion entails an assault on the womb of a woman and a lethal assault on the life of her child.  Frequently it is because the father of the child wants the child killed because he refuses to accept responsibility for the child he has fathered, or for the care of the mother of his child. Nearly half of the children conceived yearly are female. What greater violence is there against women than to be killed in your mother’s womb?

It is thus disappointing that the government and Parliament actually continues to sanction and fund violence against women by financing the violence of abortion under the guise of health care. The government should not be surprised if New Zealand continues to be an increasingly violent society with the worst rate of family violence in the world

If we truly want to live in a society that respects women we must first protect mothers to be and their babies. The first step in achieving this is to ensure that our MP’s stand up against injustice and Jacinda Ardern’s attempts to decriminalise this awful and violent act.

Family Planning’s Continuing War on Women

The Family Planning Association [FPA] in its submission to the Law Commission support the proposal of the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to take abortion out of the Crimes Act and to treat abortion as a health issue that is a reproductive choice for women, rather than as a criminal issue. The unborn child has no human rights until it is born. It should no longer be a crime to kill an unborn child. 

The FPA with the requested law change intends, “to further develop abortion services to meet the needs of the community”. It would be a catastrophe for women and their defenceless unborn if the FPA developed its 29 clinics in New Zealand into killing centres. 

The FPA claim that the current abortion legislation, “is no longer fit for purpose from both a health and human rights perspective. Women’s lives and status in society have changed since the 1970s.”

Right to Life obtained their submission from the Law Commission under the Official Information Act.  The FPA submit that it is no longer necessary to have abortions authorised by two certifying consultants or for abortions to be performed in licensed hospitals or clinics. The Association believes that most surgical and medical abortions can be performed in community and primary care clinics including FPA clinics, with no specialised facilities required.

The FPA in its submission have:-

  • Rejected the duty of the State to protect the lives of the unborn, its future citizens.
  • Believes that life begins at birth and accepts the killing of the unborn up to birth for any reason including that the child was the wrong sex.
  • Accepted the killing of those those with Down syndrome, up to birth.
  • Accepted abortion up to birth for socio-economic reasons.
