Media Release 12 September 2021
Dr Ashley Bloomfield as the Director General of Health has the responsibility of promoting health and protecting the lives of every New Zealander from conception to natural death.
It should be recognised that Dr Bloomfield presides over the abortion industry in New Zealand which violently kills more than 13,000 innocent and defenceless unborn children each year and grievously wounds their mothers. He will also preside over the killing of the vulnerable with assisted suicide and euthanasia from the 7th November.
Abortion and euthanasia are intrinsically evil, violate the Fifth Commandment of God our Creator, “Thou shalt not kill.” They violate human rights and are a crime against humanity.
Dr Bloomfield is commended for his outstanding unstinting efforts in protecting our community from the Covid-19 pandemic that afflicts our community.
However, it is very disappointing that he has chosen to subjugate his conscience to the dictates of his political masters, the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, the architect of the extreme Abortion Legislation Act, who describes the killing of the unwanted unborn as a “reproductive choice for women”, and the Minister of Health, the Hon. Andrew Little, who denies the humanity of the unborn child and its right to life until it is born when it becomes a human being.
The culture of death has a well organised government bureaucracy. Dr Bloomfield has established a dedicated team to promote the killing of the unborn and the vulnerable in society, it is called the Quality Assurance and Safety Health Systems Improvement and Innovation team.
The title proclaiming health and safety disguises the reality that this unit is dedicated to the killing of the unborn and the vulnerable.
At the Nuremburg war crime trials of doctors in 1946, 20 Nazi doctors were charged with crimes against humanity and mass murder under the guise of euthanasia, put forward the defence that they were only following orders.
This defence was rejected on the grounds that they had a responsibility to follow an informed conscience and reject orders that violated the sanctity of life. Seven of the defendants were found guilty and hanged.
Right to Life requests Dr Bloomfield to respect the sanctity of life and refuse to accept any responsibility for administering the government’s agenda of death for the unborn and the vulnerable in society.
