Day 26 – God’s forgiveness
“Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven–as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” (Luke 7:47)
It has been amazing day at the vigil. Come Holy Spirit!
There was some fantastic prayer and the Lord answered mightily.
Even though the wind was so strong and blowing our banner all over the place, it was like a special wind in the sails of our prayers lifting them Heavenward.
Two amazing encounters from this morning:
“I was praying with someone else, we were on our knees reciting the rosary and interceding for everybody we could think of and mention when a guy came on his bike and said “I … hate abortion” he looked wounded, we told him we were offering hope, he opened up that he had a girlfriend at 14 who aborted their child. He looked really hurt. We told him there was hope for his child and for him because God is Love and Jesus is Love and He has hope for them both. At this point a younger guy who must have been a friend turned up and said he wanted a rosary tattoo because 2pac had one, he wanted it on his neck. I asked him if he knew the meaning of the rosary and he said no. I showed him the crucified Jesus and said, Jesus was God and He loves you this much. At this point a third person, a lady appeared and said she had seen us other times over the campaign and she said we were doing a good thing. The guy left with a leaflet about post-abortion healing. We continued to intercede for them when they left. Thanks be to God and His Holy Spirit!”
“An Afghani family came up to the vigil, a father with a daughter and a younger son. They came up and inquired about what the vigil was all about – the young girl thought it was 40 days until the end of the world! The younger girl asked what abortion was and couldn’t believe it when she heard the response. Apparently abortion was illegal in Afghanistan and punishable with a 5 year prison sentence, they said. The young girl said she wanted to have words with John Key! They left with leaflets of the pregnancy centre for their mosque and we asked them to pray to God because he is the Author of all life! Thanks be to God!”
Prayer continued in the afternoon, and there were reports of some drivers by giving the “number one salute”. Our prayers continue to pour our love and mercy for all. Let us continue in perserverance to share the love of Christ and his mercy, to those most in need of His Heart and His Life.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” – Matthew 9:13

Day 27 – Life in Jesus
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
– Ephesians 2: 4-5
It has been estimated that there have been over 1.72 billion abortions in the last 40 years (Dr. Brian Clowes, director of education and research at Human Life International – number of worldwide abortions since 1973, true of 2013).
How can we can we even begin to contemplate or adequately mourn such a profound tragedy?
When we are overjoyed at cradling a little child in our arms, let us pause to think of those missing babies and deep wounds which are in all families, somewhere in the family tree and family history somebody is missing.
A story from the vigil today shows just how deep those wounds can go, but provides a glimmer of Heaven, of the Hope beyond the Cross, which is the only cornerstone for a true Culture of Life and Love:
“Today I was at the prayer vigil, there was just me on for that hour. Just as I was about to start another rosary a lady wearing a nurse uniform crossed the road and came over to me. She said she had noticed us over the last couple of weeks standing there praying and how wonderful she thought it was especially it being peaceful prayer. She was a christian herself. The lady shed a few tears as she told me how she was involved with an abortion in her early years as a nurse. The child was strong and survived the first attempt of killing but not the second. She knew it was wrong and did not want to be involved with this abortion, but she did not feel she was strong enough to say no and stand up for justice. I could sense her guilt from that but also how much love she had to give now.”
In this beautiful story we see shining resplendently the wonder of the Mercy of the crucified and Risen Christ. He is able to forgive every single abortion, abortionist, wounded mother and father and broken family. Christ alone is the answer!
Let us take His victory over death and witness to it with a deep faith and passionate love at our vigil, to all who need consolation, support and power of the Mercy of Jesus’ new life. Let us pray with deep faith in the promise of Jesus:
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7
Let us pray, at the foot of the Cross for the end of abortion, not only in our local community but in the whole world. Let us seek Jesus with our whole hearts, it His pierced heart glorified in Heaven, which is the only door to an authentic Culture of Life.
Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ (Acts 4:11)

Day 27 – The plans of the LORD
“But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” Psalm 33:11
What a day packed with Grace! The Lord is at work! He needs but our hearts and minds and whole selves given over to Him and He can work Miracles of LOVE! Let us pray for these miracles of LOVE to be increased at our vigil – that many lives would be saved and transformed as abortion continues to end through every act of faith, hope and love in the Body of Christ.
That God may be given the glory in all things at the vigil, that His Holy Spirit would animate all those who come and pray and seek to serve His Will which is LOVE itself. Come Holy Spirit!, fill us with a fresh outpouring of your gifts that with increasing zeal and a passionate wisdom we would know what is being asked of us to end abortion in our community and in the whole, as soon as possible! Come Lord Jesus!
“Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Psalm 40:5
“A guy came up with his wife and was smiling and so supportive, he shared with us about how Warwick Pascoe’s presentations were fantastic and being shared across the country, he told us about prayer with a friend one time, when sensing something of the grief of God the Father for the unborn, he fell to the ground. He came back past later, smiling and waving. We also had one lady drive past the vigil three times, hooting her horn, she was taking her newborn child in for a checkup”
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

Another story from today:
“Today was a beautiful prayer time in the sun, on my own. I prayed my way through the scriptures in the prayer guide, thanking God for each of HIS promises in HIS word. Matthew particularly spoke to me; thinking of the mustard seed. Even with the tiniest amount of faith, we can speak to the mountain of abortion and command it to move. Hallelujah! While I was praying, a young man walked past and said, “keep up the good work. You’re doing a great job.” What an encouragement.”
A story I heard of today from yesterday, shared by one of our prayers:
“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” – Job 5:9
“At the Prayer Vigil, we had a woman come up to us and give us the thumbs up. She was of no Religion, probably in her early 40’s. She told us this amazing story of her abortion when she was only 16 or 17 years old.
It seems she was sexually abuse from a young age by an extended family member. She said her parents knew what was going on but did nothing!!! Then she was abducted and raped at 16/17 years of age. Her parents said they had raised their children and were not prepared to help her raise hers. They told her she would have to manage by herself, so she had an abortion!!!
She told us that so much had happened to her in her life that nothing fazed her anymore. We hugged her and welcomed her to be with us. She was in no hurry to leave so we kept listening to her amazing story of survival.
As our time to leave came around, the couple ( and another woman ) who arrived to replace us, became involved too. That was absolutely wonderful because they gave her information about the Counseling and prayer available through the Family Life Centre.
I felt that she was open to anything, like even a relationship with God. On my way home I realized that I hadn’t taken her name or any contact for her, so I hope she does end up going to the recommended Counseling. She said she had had lots of Counseling. We assured her that this was by far the best she could ever hope for.
About 15 mins before all this happened, a lovely lady, around 60yrs old, maybe, approached our little group. She had come from Wellington to surprise her daughter who was due to have her first baby in 6 weeks time. She was walking along the park track looking for the Woman’s hospital so she would know where her daughter was to give birth. So we pointed out the place and then she noticed our Rosary beads ( we had been in the middle of saying a Rosary ) and told us she was Catholic too. So she stayed and prayed with us.
AND then she told us her story: She had got a cheap flight to visit her daughter. When her daughter came home from work and saw her sitting on the verandah she screamed at her and told her to leave!!!! When she said she had nowhere to go her daughter took her to the YWCA. The poor woman cried. She said she had been separated from her husband for many years and had raised her daughter on her own without help from the father. He had since died and left her/his daughter a lot of money. And so now she wants nothing to do with her mother. We felt like taking her home with us but she said she was returning home to Wellington the following day.
It was good to be able to re affirm her faith in God with her and to be able to comfit her. Gosh, we just do not realize the need OUT THERE?? The need for people to know the LOVE of God and how accessible it really is??”

Day 29 – Be Merciful
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” – Luke 6:36
The Mercy of Jesus is the final word definitively spoken against the evil of our world.
“The cross is like a touch of eternal love upon the most painful wounds of man’s earthly existence” – John Paul II
“because judgement without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgement.” – James 2.13
In 1933, God gave Sister Faustina, a Polish nun, a striking vision of His Mercy,
Sister tells us:
“I saw a great light, with God the Father in the midst of it. ?Between this light and the earth I saw Jesus nailed to the Cross ?and in such a way that God, wanting to look upon the earth, had to ?look through Our Lord’s wounds and I understood that God blessed ?the earth for the sake of Jesus.”

It is blessing upon blessing that we receive from Jesus, crucified Love. He is continually begging our hearts to be united with His, to drink from His Life of Love.
Drawing close to the crucified Jesus, the Holy Spirit can minister to those who have become estranged from Divine Love:
“yea I just caught him as he was biking past saying, “leave them alone”, I was like…who? He thought we were approaching women going in for abortions… So I told him what we were actually doing. Then we just chatted…I said God is merciful. He was asking where I went to church…”
It was a great Grace to have Hillary Kieft at the vigil today. For those who don’t know, Hilary is trying to change the Law on parental notification for abortion in New Zealand, as the current law stands, a child under the age of 16 can be taken for an abortion without her parents knowing. Here is a bit of Hillary’s story in her own words:
“One day we had a disagreement. I wanted to know why my girl had changed so much and so suddenly. Later that day, she tried to take her life by hanging herself from a rafter in the garage. Her sisters found her and cut her down just in time. It was then that our daughter told us why the health nurse had brought her home a year ago. The nurse had not taken her to a counselling appointment; instead she picked our daughter up from school and took her to an abortion clinic.
There has been no follow up since the abortion. Our daughter was simply taken home and left to get on with the aftermath, and to do so without the support of her family because we had no knowledge of the abortion. We had to watch our daughter suffer, knowing that something is drastically wrong.”
To support Hillary, please come and hear her speak on Thursday at the 40 days for life midpoint rally at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall, Bryndwyr at 7pm. She will be joined by Marina Young of the “Buttons Project” and “Living in Colour” post-abortion healing ministry. Marina will be presenting to select committee in the morning. Let us uphold them both in our prayers and especially their work on the submission to the “Beehive”, to implore the Victory of Mercy to triumph.
Here is the law that we can entrust to the Mercy of God in Jesus…. Come Lord Jesus!…
Hillary’s Law:
That the Parliament pass legislation providing that a parent of a woman under the age of 16 years,
(1) Has the right to know if that woman has a pregnancy confirmed, before she is referred for any resulting medical procedure; and
(2) That any consent sought for the medical procedure be fully informed as to procedure, possible repercussions and after-effects.
Here is the second of Brad’s video’s “Your Kingdom Come”, which he has very generously offered us free of charge for distribution, it’s a great talk. God bless you and the generosity of your prayers imploring Divine Mercy and it’s speedy victory for the suffering and those under the slavery of evil and deception. Come with you light LORD!

Day 30 – Let it rain! Let it rain! Open the floodgates of Heaven!
Thanks be to GOD and Jesus Christ for the midpoint rally. Let us continue to pray for Hilary and Marina, that many more post-abortion mothers, fathers and families touched by Grace may give a voice to the voiceless and cast light into the darkness – it is in the voice of the suffering that we will regain the dignity of our humanity and the authentic civilization of LOVE and TRUTH:
“But now listen, Jacob, my servant,
Israel, whom I have chosen.
This is what the Lord says—
he who made you, who formed you in the womb,
and who will help you:
Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant,
Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,
and my blessing on your descendants.
They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing streams.
Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’;
others will call themselves by the name of Jacob;
still others will write on their hand, ‘The Lord’s,’
and will take the name Israel.
“This is what the Lord says—
Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty:
I am the first and I am the last;
apart from me there is no God.
Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it.
Let him declare and lay out before me
what has happened since I established my ancient people,
and what is yet to come—
yes, let them foretell what will come.
Do not tremble, do not be afraid.
Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago?
You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me?
No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.”
Let us strive to become like Mary, Jesus’ mum, who in hidden sacrifice and daily gentleness, raised the baby Jesus. Let us like her trust in the promises of GOD:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant…
He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.”
(Luke 1: 46-48… 52-53)
