Every woman has the right to know that having an abortion increases the risk of her developing and dying from breast cancer.
Doctors who fail to warn women seeking an abortion that they increase the risk of developing breast cancer leave themselves open to being sued by women for failing to warn them of the increased risk of breast cancer.
A recent study has confirmed that if a woman terminates the life of her child in the womb, she increases the risk of developing breast cancer. The research was conducted by Biochemical researchers at Georgia Regents University, in Augusta Georgia. Their research found that the gene DNM1 which is essential to maintaining breast cells that enable normal rapid growth of the breasts during pregnancy, also produces stem cells that may enable breast cancer to develop. If the pregnancy is aborted, it abruptly halts the development of cells for the production of milk cells, thus making the cells susceptible to cancer. The study also indicates that delaying a first pregnancy until after the age of 30 also raises a woman’s risk of contracting breast cancer.
It is a human tragedy that each year 650 women die in New Zealand from breast cancer and that every year 2800 women are diagnosed with it. Ninety five per cent of women contracting breast cancer are over the age of forty. According to the American Coalition On Abortion Breast Cancer, one woman in 100 woman having an abortion is expected to die as a result of abortion induced breast cancer. That means that 140 women in New Zealand will die each year as a result of abortion induced breast cancer.
It has been known since 1957 from a Japanese study that women who had an abortion increased the risk of breast cancer, that study revealed a threefold increase in breast cancer.
It is shameful that the organisations that should be concerned about the health of women maintain a conspiracy of silence and are refusing to inform women that there is a link between abortion and breast cancer. Women are entitled to be told that there have been 72 studies conducted worldwide, with 80 per cent revealing that having an abortion increases the risk of breast cancer. In 2013 a meta analysis of 36 studies covering 14 Provinces in China revealed a 44 per cent increase risk of breast cancer after one abortion, 76 per cent increase after two abortions and nearly 100 per cent increase after three or more abortions.
Dr Joel Brind, PhD, internationally renowned researcher in 1996, completed a mega – analysis of twenty three international studies and found that eighteen studies disclosed a link between abortion and breast cancer. Recent studies have been completed in Sri Lanka, China, India, Bangladesh, Iran and Turkey which revealed a substantial increase in breast cancer following an abortion. There has been a 40 per cent increase in breast cancer in China since the introduction of its one child family policy with forced abortions in 1979. Following the passing of the Roe V Wade decision of the United States Supreme Court in 1973 which legalised abortions, there has been a 40 per cent increase in breast cancer.
Right to Life makes no apology for speaking up for women. We ask when is this shameful conspiracy of silence going to end? When are New Zealand women going to be informed that by having an abortion they substantially increase their risk of developing breast cancer and dying from this killer disease.
