Media Release 22nd July 2014
Meteria Turei the Green Party co-leader has announced that the Green’s key social platform will be to tackle child poverty and equality. Not only is the policy badly flawed it is also totally hypocritical. Extending 20 hours of free childhood education subsidy to cover two year olds is not a policy that New Zealand should go anywhere near. New Zealand does not want or need social policies that promote Marxist ideology to extend education to two year olds. Two year old children need to bond with their parents, not be further alienated from their families. This is simply a policy which will introduce further state sponsored control of our children and weaken the social cohesion found in the traditional family.
The Greens say they want to tackle child poverty and equality on one hand and yet on the other they wish to decriminalise the killing of younger children in their mothers wombs for any or no reason; effectively up to birth. The hypocrites.
The Greens have in fact are making the decriminalisation of the killing of the unborn to deal with “unwanted” children a platform election issue.. It is patently absurd that the Greens claim “every child matters” when they are adamant in claiming that any mother should be able to kill her unborn child when it is unwanted or inconvenient.
Ms Turei has sat in Parliament with her colleagues since August 2002. Since that time more than 204,748 children have been murdered in their mother’s womb. To the Green’s everlasting shame, during this time they have done nothing to protect women from the violence of abortion or to defend the right to life of our children in the womb and now they wish to remove all remaining protection.
If the Greens are really serious about reducing child poverty they need to recognise that depriving a child of its inalienable right to life, is the ultimate poverty. Protection of children commences in the womb and how can we hope to reduce violence outside the womb when there are those who insist on the legal right to kill our kids before birth.
Right to Life calls out the Greens on this odious policy and challenges them to justify how more killing can be the solution in a world where there is so much death already.
