Right to Life on 31 January 2017 requested the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hon Murray McCully to provide our Society with an assurance that no extra funding be given to the International Planned Parenthood Association (IPPF) and the United Nations Population Fund [UNFPA]. The Minister in response advised Right to Life on 1 March 2017 that “no decisions have been made on whether New Zealand should provide any additional funding to these organisations.
This should be of huge concern to taxpayers who object to our government supporting and funding the killing of the defenceless and innocent unborn worldwide and promoting contraception and sterilisation.
The IPPF reported killing nearly one million children in the womb in 2015. The IPPF and UNFPA has lost $400 million in American funding following the recent re introduction of the Mexico City Policy by President Donald Trump.
The IPPF has received from New Zealand $12 million for 2015/16. The UNFPA receives $12 million per annum. It is intolerable that our taxes are used to promote a culture of death overseas and not a culture of life.
