Surely the same issues face us here in New Zealand
Re Judicial Review of Abortion Supervisory Committee.
The government has a duty to uphold the rule of law. In the event that the Court of Appeal upholds the judgment of the High Court should your Party be in government at that time it would be appreciated if you would give an assurance that your Party would use its influence to ensure that the Abortion Supervisory Committee complies with the requirements of the judgment of the High Court.
Right to Life is disappointed that the Ministry of Justice has refused a request made by the Society to the Abortion Supervisory Committee under the Official Information Act. The request was to provide the names and qualifications of persons appointed by the Committee to a new Abortion Standards Advisory Committee. The refusal represents a serious threat to our civil liberties. The public have a right in a free society to know who are appointed to government bodies and what their qualifications are.
First it was going to be only those who were dying and wanted to who would be euthanased.
The Right to die they said, was a human right
Next it was those who were dying, did not want to but were anyway.
Welcome to the brave new world.
On the 8 May the Office of Film and Literature [OFLC], classified the book as R18. Right to Life appealed this decision to the Classification Review Board.
When Gianna Jessen was born, the abortionist was trying to kill her not deliver her. But she survived a saline abortion attempt on her life. Since surviving she has grown up to be hated by many. Why? Because her very survival and her life exposes every aspect of the Pro-Choice lie; Recently Gianna gave a 16 minute talk on abortion at the Victorian Parliament. This video is now on You Tube and is powerful and disturbing. If this two part video does not touch your heart and spur you to action then as some have commented you may not need prayer but resurrection.
The Ministry of Justice has refused a request under the Official Information Act to provide the names and qualifications of persons appointed by the Abortion Supervisory Committee to a new advisory committee. Right to Life is disappointed that its request for this information has been refused. It represents a serious threat to our civil liberties. The public have a right in a free society to know who are appointed to government bodies and to know what their qualifications are. The secret members of this committee are appointed by the Abortion Supervisory Committee under the authority of the Contraception Sterilisation and Abortion Act. Members are paid for their services from the public purse.
The fact that school students under sixteen are having abortions and that school counsellors have knowledge and play a part in this, when parents do not is of serious concern. This situation highlights the growing interference of the state in the lives of families and the usurping of the parental role. We ask if the counsellors and health officials involved in procurring abortions for these young women will be around to ‘pick up the pieces’?
