Billy-my son Billy with Down syndrome isn't suferring at all-he is a 15 year old teenager who loves his I-pod, cell phone, Howmer Simpson comics, friends and movies-hey; and guess what-that's just what his older normal brother is into. His older brother and the rest of us in the family absolutely love him and often tell him how lucky we are to have him. I was offered termination of him when I was preganat with him but am so grateful and thankfull I didn't. Cheers. Suzy D

Dear Billy,
May we respectfully draw your attention to the following article and especially the comments that follow the article. I personally know several Down Syndrome people and I think they would be pretty upset if you deemed their lives "not worth living"

A recent Danish study has shown that testing, followed by optional abortion, can lead to a 50% reduction in downs births.

If you had the choice, wouldn't you want to prevent the sufferring of a child? i know I would.

Life with a child who has Down syndrome is the best.

6 months after Josh was born with Down syndrome, I attended my first parent group. I was touched by the struggle people were having with “why?” I went to bed with a heavy heart and awoke with this story. I hope you enjoy it.
